I hadn't come across the term meme so did a wikipedia on it.
I then spent an hour looking at various arguments for and against. Must be said I think Dawkins is a bright guy but I think he has his own baggage. Meme's work like a mind virus; kind of like the ridiculous obsession with girls (and admittedly most guys) with the non-entity known as Paris Hilton. It worries me that the first world has evolved such that we study and invent subjects such as "Sociocultural evolution" instead of doing the basics of feeding people and housing them.
